![]() ![]() DownloadsĬompatibility: Addictive Drums versions 1 and 2. They will appear in the 'Beats' window so you can play, filter and drag-and-drop into your music software. You can use the free asio4all driver and a direct USB connexion module->PC (considering that the module can tranfer Midi through usb). We're happy to announce a new set of free MIDI loops for Addictive Drums! These files are properly mapped and formatted for AD. Whatever your choice, and if you don't need to play along with spotify or youtube sources, an audio interface is not mandatory. So in the long term, it could be a more expensive approach, but the overall quality would be far far better. It don't come with a pad/cymbals kit however. Keep in mind that in the latter case, there is absolutely no on board sounds since it is not a proper module but a very high quality trigger interface. It is a matter of compromise here.Īnother option, to strongly consider, would be to pick up an eDrumIn from Audiofront. ![]() The higher quality module you will choose, however, the better the triggering precision and dynamic would be. However, if you only need to trigger the sound from your PC by the module, you can take the cheaper one allowing midi out. ![]() No, the latency issue is mainly due to the transfer of midi information from the different elements (pad->module->Audio interface-> Laptop-> VSTi/DAW -> audio interface -> headphone) and from the potential processing of the signalat each step. Ones that work together to record the audio directly from the VST. Also looking for recommendations on best VST's and DAW's. ![]() Is there a "best" cable to use for edrums hooked up to a PC? MIDI, USB, Stereo Jack, etc. Will an audio interface even solve this latency issue that I'm having? If so, I'm open to other recommendations (I'm mainly a guitar player, so one that would work with guitars as well is a plus).I'm aware that you can use 1/4in stereo jack cables from the edrums into the 2 ports on the audio interface, but my main question is will that even still work to trigger the VST since it's actual audio being carried and not a MIDI signal being sent? I'm a complete dunce when it comes to audio stuffs, so be easy on me lol. After further inspection, the 2i2 doesn't have any MIDI or USB In Ports that I could use with my set to trigger the VST. The recommendation was the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 which is being delivered later this week. This made it perfectly playable, however, it prevents any other audio from being played like YouTube or Spotify for some reason.Īfter speaking to some people at the local music store, a guy pretty much confirmed what my research had led me to decide purchase an audio interface. The workaround that solved the latency issue for me was downloading and using ASIO4All as the sound driver. I've also tried using USB Type B > USB C and I get the same result. Reducing the buffer size to the lowest available (64) still gives me a very noticeable amount of latency. I've used a MIDI > USB cable to hook up the drum set directly to my Windows PC (Specs listed below). Even a slight bit of latency is enough to throw me off playing and ruins the entire point for me. However, upon trying to use the software, I am encountering latency that makes it unplayable. I'm not really worried about this yet until I can at least accomplish the aforementioned goal.Īfter alot of videos, it was clear that VST's like EZdrummer are the way to go due to the higher end sound quality they provide over the included module. Eventually record with a DAW (Not sure which one yet). Play through a VST like EZdrummer with unnoticeable latency to songs on YouTube through either my Amp or Headphones (Not at the same time)Ģ. I just got my first drumset ever for Christmas (Alesis Surge Mesh Kit).ġ. ![]()
