![]() ![]() We haven't had luck finding someone personally referred either. I can relate to OP's problem of revolving help if they are from agencies. Most of our maids usually tell us that they leave because they need to take care of their children, may problema sa probinsya, o gusto na maghanap talaga ng ibang trabaho. Do your work for today and tomorrow, hindi kita papakealaman if you want to do whatever once you're done with your responsibilities. Parang business/professional-like lang ang relationship ko sa kanila. I don't treat our kasambahays different from random strangers in the street or acquaintances. Please know that I'm a civil person who respects others. Earlier this year, we had a maid who went "tanan" with her textmate (and yes, she still owes us money up to this date) and recently she called us that she wanted to go back because her live-in didn't support her well (of course we didn't take her in).Īny tips on making helpers stay longer and where to get kind and hard-working helpers? Do you guys have helpers too? What are they like?ĮDIT: I just read what I typed and I realized that I sounded like a bitch. It isn't the first time that we had a maid it happened to us. She hasn't even stayed here for a month but she asked for one month advance recently so she still owes us money. ![]() Recently, one of our helpers recently left our house without informing us (as in lumayas). maybe times are really changing? They really became addicted to phones and their textmates that they don't even work well. On day offs, they meet with their textmates but it's not our business anyway. what can we do about it?Įver since helpers got into cellphones, they really became so lazy and demanding. We think that we spoil our helpers too much but really. For this year alone, I think we had 6 maids come and go already. We pay them 4,000 in their first month alone. We let them have rest in the afternoon and even bought them their own TV with that blackbox. You guys might think that we might be treating them badly, seriously, we treat them kindly. And when they come here, they find textmates even when they're already married and have kids. Before they come here, they ask "may TV ba diyan?" "may kwarto ba ako?" etc. Honestly, I think it's really hard to find good helpers because they seem very demanding. All of our maids are always on their phones and half-ass their work and we rarely really reprimand them for that because of the fear that they might do something bad to us. It's also rare to find hard-working maids. For the past few years, we have never had helpers who really stay for a long time. I am still in contact with our older helpers (they still embarrassingly comment "hi muzta na kau dyan" on my facebook once in a while) because they stayed with us for over 5 years and I pretty much grew up with them. I grew up with helpers (I know some of you may judge me for having yayas but please still be civil) and lately I've been pondering about how helpers before are very different from now or maybe we're just unlucky that we keep on getting lazy and dishonest helpers. ![]() Banner photos by Cris Tagupa on ) & Matthias Hiltner / CC BY 2.0.Not enough Pinoy content?
